This is the second book in the Laundromat Chronicles series. I loved being able to get more of Jewel's ( Cara's) feelings and reactions to what was happening. It helped me understand more of what is was and is going through with her recovery. I'm loving this kind of series where we are getting more background on the characters before the longer story that ties them all together, instead of the other way around. I will give this book 5 stars because it is a really good book and deserves all of them.

Synopsis

Kate

I’ve been on the run since entering into the Witness Protection Program over ten years ago.  That’s what happens when the mob’s out to get you.  When my cheap ass car breaks down, stranding me in Mississippi, I find the last thing I need right now.  Ryker –  the sexiest man I have ever laid eyes on.  Figures he’d be a total manwhore.  But he is the man that is going to fix my car, allowing me to escape before the mob catches up with me.  I just need to keep my hormones in check while he does.

 Ryker

I’ve never had an issue finding a woman to fill my bed.  Hell, it didn’t even have to be a bed.  Back alley, the seedy bathroom in a bar, the bed of a truck in broad daylight.  You name it, I’ve done it.  But when Kate steps out of that tow truck, I’m hooked.  She rattles my nerves, causing me to lose all sense of self control.  All I want is to know her.  But something is holding her back.  She has a story, and I won’t rest until I know what it is.

My Review

I'm writing this review after only reading the book to proofread it. Kerri has made heavy changes in the book and I wanted to get a review up in the mean time. I will be posting another review after I read it again with the new edits.
I loved this book. It had all the right twists and turns to keep you reading. It was a romance story with just the right amount of mystery and tense moments. I love Kerri's writing style, it flows very well. I was surprised to find out this is Kerri's first book to be published. You really can't tell, I think her writing is that good. I hope she writes another book like this one.
I really have to give this book 5 stars, I loved it so much!

About the Author

With an avaricious appetite for stories, Kerri Ann can be found quite often with her nose in a book or writing it. On many occasion it has been said that she's in her own world, living in the stories of those she reads about, giving them a life they deserve.
She can easily be found under a tree in the shade, or reclining at Starbucks scribbling notes about new stories and new characters, while keeping the coffee chain in business.
Whether late at night, at a music festival, or sitting on a ski lift, when the thoughts arise Kerri will add them to those in progress.
This is her first self published book and she hopes you enjoy reading it as much as she enjoyed writing it.

Phoenix by Addison Kline

Title : Phoenix

Author: Addison Kline

Book 1 of the Phoenix Saga - The Phoenix

“Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” Or so the book of Corinthians tells us.

Alanna Anderson does not agree with this sentiment. At the tender age of thirteen, Alanna believes that she has learned all she needs to know about love. Love is fleeting. Love is callous. Love is a lie. Growing up in the rough streets of South End, Pennsylvania, Alanna Anderson knows a thing or two about guarding her heart. Although there is a boy that vies for her attention, Alanna has no interest. She surrounds herself with the people she loves best, and immerses herself in her music and her love of literature. But one winter day, two boys forever changed Alanna’s life. One cemented Alanna’s belief that love was cruel. Another sought to prove her wrong.

Cris Serrano is new to town. Moving to the United States from Portugal, he is stepping into a world he in unfamiliar with. He is not fearful, though. Stepping forth with confidence, Cris is excited for what this new experience will hold, leaving behind a past he’d rather forget. Upon his first day at Henshaw Elementary, Cris meets Alanna Anderson and sparks fly. Their connection is one that will forever rewrite the map of their destinies – two supernovas colliding amidst a darkened sky. Not everyone believes that Alanna and Cris belong together, though.

Damien Foley has loved Alanna Anderson from the day he first set eyes upon her. Though she ignores his advances, Damien has hope that Alanna will open her heart to him. But when Cris Serrano comes to town, everything changes. Alanna gazes at Cris the way Damien wishes she would look at him. Watching her fall in love in Cris was more than Damien’s mind could take. As Alanna and Cris are enveloped in the joy of young love, a storm is brewing. With Damien’s attraction to Alanna only intensifying with each unrequited sentiment, an obsession was born.

Young love does not come easy in this gritty, romantic suspense novel. In the Phoenix Saga, they love hard, they fight hard, and the stakes are high as teens struggle to step over the echelon of adulthood.

I loved this book but it is a VERY emotional book. It had me cringing, crying and yelling at my kindle. The way Addison writes it makes you feel like you are standing right there with the characters as their role is played out. I love that about her writing and that is what I look for in other authors. I'm going to give this book 5 stars and I can't wait until the next one is out.

Laundromat Chronicles- Millioniare by Angie Merriam

The 1st Book in the Laundromat Chronicles Series is LIVE!

Cash Green has it all. Money. Career. Penthouse. Women. What Cash doesn’t have is love. He’s never wanted more than his one night stands and casual flings. When he accompanies his grandmother to the Laundromat as a favor to her, a strange woman causes him to question his entire way of life.

Just when the millionaire thinks he’s ready to leave behind his playboy ways, his past indiscretions come back to haunt him. Can Cash be the man he knows he was born to be or will the call of the past destroy his future?

I didn't know if I would like reading multiple novellas then reading a longer book that tied them all together but so far I'm loving it.
This first book has a lot of information packed into one little novella but not so much that it overwhelms you. One of my favorite characters so far has to be Gram. I love sassy old ladies and Gram is definitely sassy.
I'm giving this book 5 stars and I'm definitely looking forward to the next books in the series.

Finding Joy Street by Melissa Belle

Now Live !!

No one’s come close to uncovering California Blue's darkest secrets. But she’s about to meet the man who’s up for the challenge…

New college grad California has always been known as "Happy Helpful Cali." Her sunny disposition and enthusiastic tarot readings cover up her darker side—until gorgeous player London Shaw moves into her Boston apartment building and seems to see right through her.

With his perma-frown and expensive suits, London’s the most irritating, arrogant man California’s ever met. And despite their instant undeniable chemistry, she's the exact opposite of London's type. He doesn't want to pick her up, and she has no interest in helping him out. But as the tarot cards would have it, California and London are destined for a torrid encounter. When a crisis forces California to let London inside her world, the seismic fire between them ignites into one passionate "no strings attached" night together.

But can California's dark past let her have a future with London? And can the persistent Bostonian do what no man ever has—get California Blue to lay down her defenses and bare her soul?

Barnes and Noble: http://bit.ly/28QAElr

When I first started this book and saw that most of the characters were named after places, it was kinda annoying but as I continued to read I can to realize that the names fit the characters perfectly. The relationship between California and London was written so perfectly that I felt like I was a fly on the wall watching every step unfolding.
The underlying subject matter in this book tugged hard at me and hit home because I suffer from bipolar disorder and anxiety. There has been times I felt exactly like California and London.
I absolutely loved this book. At first I thought that this book wouldn't be able to get any more than 4 stars but now that I have finished this book I have to give it 5 stars. I can't wait until the next book and I really hope that it is Paris' or Diego's story. I really want to know more about those characters.

Intro for Excerpt

California Blue meets handsome player London Shaw when he’s lost trying to find his new Boston apartment building. Turns out they live in the same place…and to California’s great frustration, London is the first man who tempts her to break her no-dating, no-men rule—the same rule that’s kept her safe after a prophetic Tarot card reading led to a family tragedy. When California and London unknowingly wind up at the same bar later that night, she is determined to keep him at arm’s length. In the following scene, she has fled the bar in hopes of avoiding him and the attraction she feels for him. London, however, isn’t so easily put off…

Excerpt for Finding Joy Street

I practically run out of the bar, but London and his long legs have no problem keeping up. He’s got to be over six feet tall, because the top of my head only reaches his shoulder. I ignore him completely, making zero effort to be friendly. And for some reason I find the experience oddly relaxing. I’m enjoying not having to be helpful, or polite, or really, anything at all with London. I’ve never loathed someone openly before, and having no pretense between us is a huge relief.
London’s broad shoulders are relaxed as he walks next to me. He glances over at me like we’re enjoying an evening stroll together. The only hint of tension is his clenching jaw.
He waits until we reach the corner of Charles and Cambridge to speak.
“So you had to run off to the other end of the bar, huh?”
I ignore him.
“Bet it drives you crazy,” he murmurs. “To have to avoid me like that.”
I grit my teeth and turn to him. “Why would it?”
“Because you want me and your brain won’t let you have me.”
He reaches out to touch my cheek then, and I purse my lips when a shot of lust bursts through me.
I recoil from his touch and fight to recover. “My self-respect and respect for women everywhere would never let me have you.”
His dark eyes zero in on me.
“Somehow I don’t think that’s your real reason. You’re far more complicated than that. But I’m good at uncovering riddles. I’ll uncover you, too.”
I step as far away from him as humanly possible without landing my ass in the street. Signaling a taxi, I wait until it pulls up to the curb before I give London the blankest stare I can when I say, “I dare you to try, Mr. Shaw.”
He opens the door of the taxi and I jump in. But before I can shut the door in his face, he leans in. “Challenge accepted, Ms. Blue.”
He closes the door behind me without another word.
