Something new to the blog.

I'm starting something new. I was going to wait until the first of the month but I decided not to wait on some of these great authors. I've already started with two spotlight posts of Margaret Locke and Alec John Belle.

What I want to do is have an author spotlight post at least once a week if not more. I have at least four authors that I will probably do this week. It will depend on how many blog tours, cover reveals or release blitz I have that week.If you have any authors you would like me to spotlight, this is what I will need to make a post: An author pic and bio, a synopsis of their latest book, a book cover pic, buy links for the book and stalker links. If they have multiple books, I would like a list of what the names of the books are and the buy links for each book. I want to branch out to different genres than just romance so it doesn't matter what genre. All information should be emailed to ravendelilah@gmail.com

I'm doing this to try and help as many authors as I can and get as much publicity for them as possible. If you can share the links for the spotlight authors it would be greatly appreciated. Likes and comments on the posts would be appreciated also.

Cover Reveal for Life Rewritten by Andrea Johnston

Title: Life Rewritten
Author: Andrea Johnston
Release Date: Aug 20, 2015
Find on Goodreads

I never thought that, at 40, this would be my life. Mourning the loss of the man I vowed to love for life was hard enough. Online dating, starting a business, and falling in love was never the plan.

Victoria Bennett has been blessed with a loving husband, a wonderful son and amazing friends. Always the organized planner, Victoria was thrown life's curve ball when she found herself a widow and single mom before 40. After mourning the loss of her husband and rejoining her friends and family in her once simple life, Victoria finds herself venturing into the world of online dating with little success.

After hanging up her keyboard and focusing on new experiences and hobbies, Victoria is as surprised as everyone else when her favorite pastime leads to a new career and passion for life. When a friendship turns to romance, her life is once again thrown for a loop. Like everything new in her life she takes on the relationship with gusto, and a series of mishaps.

Victoria soon learns that sometimes the life you've planned isn't the life you lead. It is still your life, just your life rewritten.

“I'm sorry, what?”

I had to have heard him wrong, right? There is no way this guy is serious. And yet, by the look on his face, I'm pretty sure he is.

This is the worst date ever.

“I said I would love to take you back to your house and pleasure your feet,” he says with more than a hint of disdain.

Well, hell. I had heard him correctly. He said pleasure and feet. Together. On purpose. Oh, I’m going to pleasure my feet all right, by sticking my stiletto up his ass. This guy is nuts if he thinks I’m taking him back to my house so he can get his rocks off by messing with my feet. I get it; I am wearing some pretty hot shoes. I thought they were ridiculous at first, but my sister, Charlotte, insisted they were a must have for my new life. I still don't know why I need a new life, but I listened, and if I’m completely honest, I love them. Peep-toe, leopard-print, five-inch stilettos that make me feel like I can hold my own in this crazy world. They give me the power I need for moments like this.

“You know, Phillip, I don't think I’m really there.”

I’m not likely to ever actually be there. Sadly for Phillip, I lack a poker face and imagine my eyes have fluttered a minimum of ten times while I purse my lips and inhale through my nose and out through my mouth.

Looking across the table, I am greeted with a furrowed brow and a look I can't quite put my finger on, but I know it isn't welcoming. Shit. I’d hoped to at least leave this date with a friend.

Andrea Johnston spent her childhood with her nose in a book and a pen to paper. An avid people watcher, her mind is full of stories that yearn to be told.  A fan of angsty romance with a happy ending, super sexy erotica and a good mystery, Andrea can always be found with her Kindle nearby fully charged.

Andrea lives in Idaho with her family and two dogs.  When she isn’t spending time with her partner in crime aka her husband, she can be found binge watching all things Bravo and enjoying a cocktail. Nothing makes her happier than the laughter of her children, a good book, her feet in the water, and cocktail in hand all at the same time.

Sinful Intent by Chelle Bliss

                                       Title: Sinful Intent
                                                 Series: ALFA PI Book #1
                                                  Release Date: July 14th
                                                     Author: Chelle Bliss

Synopsis:

The moment I saw her, I wanted her.
I tried to resist her, but Race had other plans.
One night, in a moment of weakness, I gave in to my desires.
I still had a job to do before her world collapsed.
If I failed at finding the person behind the threats, I could lose her forever.
Temptation can be dangerous.

Excerpt:

You're really purdy,” she slurred with a lopsided grin, running her finger down my cheek.
“That’s it. No more drinks for you,” I said, dragging the glass away from her.
“No! I've only had three,” she said as she lurched forward, pulling the drink out of my hands.
“I'm enjoying myself. I've had a bitch of a week and I deserve to let loose a little.”
I held my hands up. “You've actually had four martinis, but anything you want, princess.”
Her eyes grew into little slits. “I’m not your princess,” she slurred, sounding completely adorable.
My cheeks hurt as I smiled. “I’m going to take you home now. I think you need to sleep it off.”
“Last time I checked,” she said before hiccupping, “you’re not my daddy.” A slow smile crept across her face. She scooted closer and whispered, “Unless that’s your thing.” She tried to wink, but both eyes closed, one after the other.
I leaned into her space, a breath away from her lips. “It’s not my thing, but I'm happy to act out your fantasies. But I don't think you want to cross that line. Once you go there, there’s no going back.” I stared into her eyes.
“Oooh.” Her eyes grew wide. “Is that supposed to scare me, Mr. DeLuca?”
I didn’t move. “I'm just giving you fair warning. You've had a few drinks, and I won’t take advantage of that. I'm just telling you how it is.”
“You're full of yourself.” Her warm, sweet breath caressed my lips as she spoke.
All I wanted to do was reach out, pull her face to mine, and kiss her full, beautiful lips. “I’m sure of myself and confident in my abilities, yes. That’s entirely different than being full of myself.” I licked my lips, testing her.
Her eyes dropped to my mouth as her lips parted.
“Another?” Lisa interrupted.
“We're good,” I replied, keeping my eyes pinned to Race and waving Lisa off.
“Pfft,” Lisa scoffed, stomping away.
Race glared in Lisa’s direction. “She wants you,” she whispered.
Was she jealous?“I don’t want her.”
“She’s a sure thing though.”
I leaned closer, leaving very little space between us. “I never liked easy.”
“All men like easy.” Her body swayed, moving so close our lips almost brushed.

This book is different from Chelle's Men in Inked series even though it does have some of the characters. It starts out a little slow but once I kept reading it was hard for me to put it down. I read it in about two days but that was just because life got in the way. I would have read it a lot quicker. After Morgan meets Race it becomes a fast paced book and even though it's a romance, parts of it has you on the edge of your seat and you can't put it down. I loved Morgan from the beginning but Race had to grow on me. I wasn't to thrilled with her name until she explained why her name was Race. After that I started to like it and it seemed to fit her.  At first she didn't seem like the right fit for Morgan but further in the story they started to fit together better. It is so hard to tell you everything I liked and didn't like (it wasn't much, I didn't like) without giving spoilers. So I'm going to say I love the direction this new series of Chelle's is going and I can't wait until I can read the next one. I will give this one 5 stars because I swear Chelle can not write a bad book.

Before I Break by Alec John Belle

When religiously raised Cyril Hayes begins his junior year at East Hill High School, every choice he makes suffers a greater consequence. While facing challenges of friends, family, and love, he learns that hate and intolerance are also a very large part of our world today.

Cyril Hayes is seemingly just like any other male his age. He has the perfect girlfriend, Melissa Summers, his best friend, Jake Rivers, and a lawyer father who brings home enough money to support his family and then some. When Cyril begins his junior year, he doesn't expect his life to spiral out of control when he meets Avery Branson, the new kid in school who has a big secret: he’s gay. At first, Cyril doesn't handle this truth well, due to the way he was raised, but as the story progresses, he ventures deep into the reality of homosexuality and begins to accept Avery for who he is.

Not everyone is happy with Cyril’s new friend, including Jake, who believes that homosexuality is a sin and is refusing to budge his beliefs. But Avery isn't the only one at East Hill with secrets. Soon a tragedy will strike, knocking Cyril’s world completely off balance and leaving a scar on his heart that will change his view of humanity all together.

I have ugly cried before when reading a book but never the way I cried with this book. It is a really great book. You really get attached to the characters. This book also deals with some really heavy subjects. It deals with hate crimes against members of the LGBT community and also their supporters. It also deals with the issue of if a straight guy can be just friends with a gay guy. Another subject it deals with is self harm or cutting. Also depression is touched upon in the book. You know, all the heavy or dark subjects no one wants to talk about now but needs to.
I read this book in a few hours. I read the prologue and I was hooked, I couldn't put it down. Like I said it deals with some heavy and dark subjects but even if you aren't LGBT you can find one character to identify with. You will fall in love with Cyril, Avery and Melissa especially. Jake is someone that you wonder what is wrong with him through most of the book but you find out at the end his major problem. There are other minor characters that you will either dislike or love. Some of them I couldn't stand but some of them reminded me of people I know and love dearly.
I usually don't read books like this. After reading this one I think I will look for more like it. In rating this book I give it 5 well deserved stars. Even though it was a tough subject to read about I absolutely loved the book. I can't wait to read the next book.

Cover Reveal for Falling for Her by Amy Stephens

Title:  Falling For Her
Author:  Amy Stephens
Series:  The Falcon Club, #2
Publisher:  Booktrope
Publication Date:  August 2015

Jaime Garcia had dreams. Growing up poor, he always knew his chances of attending college were slim. With no father in their home, he did everything he could to help his family, including working side jobs that sometimes required him to do things that weren't always safe or smart.

One night, Jaime found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sent away for a crime that never should have happened, his attorney plea bargained a sentence that put him in a federal prison camp far away from home and his family.

As the years passed by, Jaime adjusted to his life in prison and found a way to fulfill his dream of earning a college degree all while being incarcerated. What he hadn't expected though was to meet someone he would become attracted to, someone who knew nothing about his past. Jaime and Erica were placed together in a study group for a class assignment. They instantly have a connection and enjoy spending time together in the military library.

At first, Erica doesn't know that Jaime is different from the other military men on base. However, when she discovers the truth behind the jumpsuit he wears bearing the name The Falcon Club, how will it affect their friendship and the relationship that has started to develop between the two of them? Can Jaime convince Erica he is falling for her and not just taking advantage of her because of his situation? The Falcon Club: Falling for Her, book two in the two-part series, is told from Jaime’s point of view and should be read after Falling for Him, Erica’s story.

A Man of Character by Margaret Locke

I'm doing something different with this blog post. As of right now I haven't read this book but by the synopsis I felt I had to tell people about this book and author. I will be writing a review once I get the book in the mail. I'm very excited to read this book. It looks like a really good one. I love the story behind the story and I hope you will too. So I'm going to tell you about this book and author and let you decide if you would like to read it and I really hope you do. I will add my review later.

Thirty-five-year-old Catherine Schreiber has shelved love for good. Keeping her ailing bookstore afloat takes all her time, and she’s perfectly fine with that. So when several men ask her out in short order, she’s not sure what to do…especially since something about them seems eerily familiar.

A startling revelation - that these men are fictional characters she’d created and forgotten years ago - forces Cat to reevaluate her world and the people in it. Because these characters are alive. Here. Now. And most definitely in the flesh.

Her best friend, Eliza, a romance novel junkie craving her own Happily Ever After, is thrilled by the possibilities. The power to create Mr. Perfect - who could pass that up? But can a relationship be real if it’s fiction? Caught between fantasy and reality, Cat must decide which - or whom - she wants more.

Blending humor with unusual twists, including a magical manuscript, a computer scientist in shining armor, and even a Regency ball, A Man of Character tells a story not only of love, but also of the lengths we'll go for friendship, self-discovery, and second chances.

Not a buy link but it's a good link to have

As a teen, Margaret Locke pledged to write romances when she grew up. Once an adult, however, she figured she ought to be doing grown-up things, not penning steamy love stories. Yeah, whatever. Turning forty cured her of that silly notion. Margaret is now happily ensconced back in the clutches of her first love, this time as an author as well as a reader. Margaret lives in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia with her fantastic husband, two fab kids, and two fat cats. You can usually find her in front of some sort of screen (electronic or window; she’s come to terms with the fact that she’s not an outdoors person). Please visit her at margaretlocke.com

How did you come up with the story for Man of Character?

As for the spark behind A Man of Character? On a dinner date with my husband a few years ago, I confessed that what I most wanted to do now that I had grown up (er, I mean, now that our kids were both in school) was write. His answer? "Go for it."

On the way home from that same date, as I mulled over potential story ideas in my head, I suddenly blurted out, “What if a woman discovers she’s dating fictional characters she’d made up?” Husband nodded. “Sounds intriguing,” he said. And that was the beginning.

I got up the next day and started sketching out details – who was this woman? What kind of men would she have made up? Why?

As I wrote down the details, the story played out like a movie in my head, with snippets of conversation floating in here or there. Of course A Man of Character went through numerous drafts – for example, in the first one, there wasn't any explanation for why these men show up; they just did! Other things changed, too, but the core of the novel remained the same. And I still love it. I hope everyone else does, too.

Review:

WOW! Where to begin. . . I thought the Men of Inked were hot, I'm thinking it's a family thing.  Sinful Intent took a different path than Chelle's previous series but it turns out it's a good thing. There is some mystery and suspense involved in here. I enjoyed that it was different and we aren't repeating the flow of the other books. Morgan DeLuca is just as hot as his Florida cousins and I instantly loved him. Race True, hum, I honestly couldn't figure out if I liked her or not. I was put off by the name at first (my first thought was stripper not corporate executive) but you are given the back story to her name and you melt a little.  Her personality goes back and for between strong and weak but as the story unfolds you can understand why she is the way she is. Being the huge Men of Inked fan that I am, I am very happy that you still get glimpses into their lives. Since Thomas and James are the owners of ALFA PI, we still get a little Gallo fix a long the way. Chelle proves that she is here to stay and continues to put out amazing work. I loved the preview into Unlawful Desire and that she is bringing in a player from City's life. I am waiting patiently, ok maybe not so patiently, for it to be released .

Sam Jacobs has been best friends with Camaron Willis since the second grade. Ever since the day they met her heart belonged to him.

Now graduating from college Sam moves across the country to start their life together. They have been planning this for years, she will help him with his tattoo business while writing her first novel. Together, they will make their dreams come true.

Life and people change, Sam finds herself discovering that the one you thought you always wanted may not be the one you need.

Sometimes life guides you to places you always should have been.

He forgot me, he actually forgot me. I am standing here looking out at the crowd of people waiting for their loved ones and I don’t see Camaron anywhere. Ugh, seriously, you would think that after not seeing your best friend for the last two years, you would make sure to pick her up at the airport. I grab my phone and send a quick text, he probably is just parking.

Me: Hey Camaron where are you?

I don’t get a response back and take my bags and head outside. I look around and see tons of cars and people, but no Camaron. I decide to grab a bench and wait. I pull up my kindle app on my phone and continue to read the romance novel I started on the plane. Leverage by Jessica Wilde—now this story has captured my attention, especially Shades, talk about a great alpha male. He is definitely my new book boyfriend.  I am so wrapped up with the story I didn't realize that someone is standing next to me, looking down at me. I take my eyes away from my phone and realize that he is talking to me.
“Samantha . . . Samantha Jacobs.”  I look up and see a man, with dark brown hair, gorgeous brown eyes and a beard, talking to me. I must look idiotic because he laughs and gives me a smirk and says again.

 “Are you Samantha Jacobs?”

This book made me ugly cry. I haven't done that with a book since I read a Nicholas Sparks book. This book reminded me of when I lost my father. Not to give anything away but the pricks lose an important member in their late 20's just like I did. It hit home and I ugly cried. I loved this book. I fell in love with Sam, Axel and Cam. There were times when I was upset with Sam because she was being so stupid when it came to Cam. After reading the rest of the book I figured out that she needed to be stupid in those moments to get what she ended up with. I'm happy how things work out for Sam. I love the way Tracie wrote all the characters, I love the sassiness and the caring of Carrie and Gabby. They remind me of my best friends. I love the way all the prick friends are so close that they are a family. I could go on and on about how much I loved this book but I would start to give away the book and I'm not going to do that. I think this book deserves 5 stars. It's a book that hits home and makes you reflect on your own life. I can't wait until the next book.

I was born and raised in Northeastern, Pennsylvania where I still live today with my husband and three beautiful children. Like everyone, I have had my ups and downs and have seen my life take a complete change. Previously, I was a working mom putting in 60 hours a week as a Financial Advisor but with the sudden loss of my mom who was my best friend I found myself giving up the suits and meetings for jeans and snack time. I have always had the passion for reading and found an escape through the words of all the talented authors I have read. My passion allowed me the opportunity to blog and to get a wonderful insight into the indie world. I have enormous pride and stay true to the characters and their stories as they reveal themselves to me. I am so excited to have this opportunity to share my stories and hope you love them as much as I do.
